PEAK Parent Center


The mission of PEAK Parent Center is to provide training, information and technical assistance to equip families of children birth through twenty-six including all disability conditions with strategies to advocate successfully for their children. As a result of PEAK's services to families and professionals, children and adults with disabilities will live rich, active lives participating as full members of their schools and communities.

PEAK Parent Center is Colorado's federally designated Parent Training and Information Center (PTI). PEAK assists families and others through services like its telephone hotline, workshops, conferences, website, and publications. As a PTI, PEAK offers parent-to-parent support, but it does not hold support group meetings. They work one-on-one with families and also collaborate with state government and the education, rehabilitation, and medical communities to make system changes that improve outcomes for children.

Parent to Parent of Colorado


Parent to Parent connects and empowers parents through support groups, 1 to 1 matching, information and resources. They have a listserv, an e-mail discussion group, for parents of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. This discussion group has hundreds of parents who provide support to one another through the listserv.

Colorado Community Centered Boards


Community Centered Boards are private non-profit organizations that are the single entry point into the state of Colorado's service and support system for persons with developmental disabilities. Community Centered Boards are responsible for intake, eligibility determination, service plan development, arrangement for services, and delivery of services.

Mile High Down Syndrome Association

The Autism Society of Colorado's mission is to promote the quality of life for people with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

The Autism Society of Boulder County's mission is to raise autism awareness in Boulder and Broomfield Counties by supporting all Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) individuals and their families and professionals. The Arc of Colorado and local Arc units


The Arc of Colorado advocates with others to create the conditions under which all people with developmental disabilities experience opportunities to develop competency and to make choices, to have good relationships with family members and friends, to have respect and dignity, and to be full participants in all community living.

Empower Colorado is an organization run by families; they offer support, education, advocacy and resources to families with children and youth who have social, emotional or mental health challenges.

The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People


The Legal Center is an independent public interest non-profit specializing in civil rights and discrimination issues. They protect the human, civil and legal rights of people with mental and physical disabilities, people with HIV, and older people throughout Colorado.

The Legal Center's primary goal is to open up the legal system to those who would otherwise be unable to voice their needs because of the complexity of the service bureaucracy, their disability, or because they are unable to act on their own behalf.
